Jeanette Tetrault, MD, Awarded AMERSA's John P. McGovern Award

We are excited to announce that ACAAM President Jeanette Tetrault, MD, was awarded the Association for Multidisciplinary Education and Research in Substance use and Addiction (AMERSA) John P. McGovern Award for Excellence in Medical Education!

The AMERSA John P. McGovern Award is given to an individual who has made important contributions to substance use education and research. Previous recipients of this award include Ricky N. Bluthenthal, PhD; Marc N. Gourevitch, MD, MPH; and Julia H. Arnsten, MD, MPH, among others.

In addition to leading ACAAM, Dr. Tetrault is a Professor of Medicine and Public Health, Vice-Chair for Education for the Section of General Internal Medicine, Associate Director for the Program in Addiction Medicine, and Fellowship Director for Addiction Medicine at Yale School of Medicine. She is also the co-director of the Addiction Recovery Clinic at the New Haven Primary Care Consortium and a staff physician at the Central Medical Unit, which is an integrated addiction and primary care clinic at the APT Foundation. Her work focuses on epidemiologic investigation, investigation of unique delivery care models, examination of safety of addiction pharmacotherapies, and addiction medicine curriculum design, evaluation, and dissemination. She has also received numerous awards for her commendable teaching accomplishments.
