Clinical Training

Clinical fellowships are available for physicians who have completed residency training in any of the 24 primary specialties. Learn more about addiction medicine fellowship training and to find and apply to fellowships. 


The primary pathway to specializing in addiction medicine is subspecialty board certification, available to both allopathic and osteopathic physicians. Addiction Medicine Board Certification is offered through:

  • American Board of Preventive Medicine (ABPM) and
  • American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
