Happy #GivingTuesday from ACAAM

Happy Giving Tuesday!

Today, #GivingTuesday, support the American College of Academic Addiction Medicine's mission to promote academic excellence and inspire leadership in addiction medicine.

What is Giving Tuesday?
Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of radical generosity. It was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Since then, it has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

How does Giving Tuesday support the organization?
While membership dues support our core services and operating budget of the organization, innovative programs begin because of the philanthropic efforts of members coming together to create transformative change within addiction medicine.

ACAAM remains independent of commercial entities and interests and is beholden only to the best interests of patients and the science that supports our training.

Where does my money go?
Your gift, no matter the size, allows the organization to develop education, support new and existing addiction medicine fellowship programs, and nurture the future of the field.

Is my donation tax deductible?
Yes! You will receive more information including ACAAM tax exemption details once you donate.

We greatly appreciate your support for the future of academic addiction medicine!

Veterans Day and Addiction Medicine

ACAAM honors veterans and addiction medicine specialists who served their country this Veterans Day

On Veterans Day, we honor our veterans and share our profound gratitude for their sacrifices. We also thank the addiction medicine specialists who tirelessly treat veterans with substance use disorders and lead them into recovery. This year, we'd like to highlight two addiction medicine specialists who not only treat veterans, but were veterans themselves.

ACAAM Partnered with ASAM during NATW

This October 17-21, during National Addiction Treatment Week (NATW), ACAAM partnered with the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) to help inspire upcoming leaders in addiction medicine. NATW is an initiative that highlights the treatment gap between the number of patients who need addiction treatment and the qualified medical professionals available to treat addiction. The partnership between the organizations included an effort to share fellows’ stories about the importance of addiction medicine fellowships. See their videos and more on the NATW website.
