The Spark Award
The ACAAM Award for Excellence as an Early Career Educator
The Spark Award honors an ACAAM member who graduated from an Addiction Medicine Fellowship Program and promotes the mission, vision, and values of ACAAM through their work in education and demonstrated leadership in the field.
The 2025 Call for Award Nominations for The Spark Award is now open! Submit your nomination by October 7, 2025.
Award eligibility, selection process, presentation
- Nominee is a current ACAAM member
- Nominee has graduated from Addiction Medicine Fellowship Program within the last five years
- Nomination Requirements - complete the form, attach a formal nomination letter stating why this person should receive The Spark Award, along with a current copy of the nominee's curriculum vitae
- The Awards Committee will consider all nominations and present a recommended recipient to the Board of Directors for approval.
- In selecting recipients, the Awards Committee will take into consideration ACAAM's efforts to promote antiracism, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- The award is presented at the Annual Addiction Medicine Fellow Virtual Graduation & ACAAM Awards Recognition Event on June 3, 2026, 6 pm ET.
