The Call for Volunteers is Now Open! Serving as an ACAAM Volunteer offers the opportunity to help meet the strategic goals of the organization, gain knowledge and skills in non-profit committee service, as well as to build and enhance leadership development skills.

ACAAM is seeking volunteers for the following committees and advisory group.

Highlights

  • Volunteer service is primarily completed through a combination of email correspondence and Zoom calls to advance specific committee charges, outlined below, all mapped to the ACAAM Strategic Plan.
    • Committees will typically meet once a quarter and possibly more depending upon the current scope of work.
    • Advisory groups will meet as needed.
  • Committee and advisory group members are appointed to a serve a two-three year term.
  • All volunteers must remain ACAAM members throughout their service.
  • Committee and advisory group appointments are limited, therefore when applying you are strongly encouraged to indicate up to three committees you are interested in serving on.
    • Be prepared to provide a brief statement (up to 200 words) indicating why you are interested in serving on a particular committee and what you can contribute to the group.
  • Appointments are made by the President and President-Elect with staff engagement.
  • All applicants will be notified by late October.

Board Committee

Anti-Racism/Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Committee 

The AR/DEI Committee will develop, implement, integrate, and support strategies and activities to achieve priority goals related to anti-racism, diversity, and inclusion and to creating an equitable and welcoming environment. The committee will be comprised of five members, including the chair. 

Strategic Goal: Workforce

Fellowship Committee

The Fellowship Committee will provide support for addiction medicine fellowship training initiatives, including pipeline development efforts, resource creation, and NRMP Medicine and Pediatric Specialties Match oversight. The committee will be comprised of seven members, including the chair.

Strategic Goal: Education

education COMMITTEE

The Education Committee will provide oversight on educational efforts of the organization, including current and new programs and products. The Committee will conduct regular needs assessments for faculty development and create educational resources to meet those needs. The committee will be comprised of seven members, including the chair.

Strategic Goal: ACAAM Community

Membership COMMITTEE

The Membership Committee will consider membership eligibility requirements and considerations, analyze membership data, provide support for recruitment and retention strategies and activities, and work to create a Welcoming Environment for ACAAM members. The committee will be comprised of five members, including the chair.

Awards Committee

The Awards Committee will lead ACAAM’s Awards & Recognition program reviewing award nominees and providing a slate of recipients for Board approval, as well as development of an ACAAM Awards & Recognition plan to provide additional recognition opportunities. The committee will be comprised of five members, including the chair.

Strategic Goal: External

Partnership advisory group

The Partnership Advisory Group will be called upon as needed to identify and recommend opportunities for potential partnerships with external organizations, Federal partners, and/or philanthropic organizations. The advisory group will be comprised of five members, including the chair.
