$2 MILLION AWARDED BY THE CONRAD N. HILTON FOUNDATION TO ABAM FOUNDATION

The Conrad N. Hilton Foundation has awarded the American Board of Addiction Medicine (ABAM) Foundation a three-year, $2 million grant to establish The National Center for Physician Training in Addiction Medicine.  The purpose of the new Center will be to expand the education and training of physicians in addiction medicine, with a special emphasis on prevention and screening, brief intervention and referral to treatment (SBIRT), particularly for adolescents and young adults.

Eight addiction medicine fellowship programs accredited by The ABAM Foundation

The American Board of Addiction Medicine (ABAM) Foundation today announced the accreditation of eight addiction medicine fellowship programs, bringing the total number of accredited programs to 18. The fellowship programs, which are modeled on the Foundation’s national guidelines, Program Requirements for Graduate Medical Education in Addiction Medicine, are based at leading medical institutions across the U.S. and Canada.
